Airport Hotels in El Paso, TX

Hotels can fall into a wide range of pre-defined classifications of hospitality, and one of which in an airport hotel. While some hotels can be defined as a combination of different types, a hotel that is within a few miles of the terminal entrance might not be known as an airport hotel, but actually be known for it's family-friendliness and/or vacation benefits. The term "airport hotel" is simply a secondary term that describes it's proximity to an airport, not it's reputation. This is especially true for airport hotels in El Paso, since there are no hotels within the secure area.

Close Proximity of the Terminal

In any case, whether it's a family hotel, vacation hotel, budget hotel or other, they can all be considered airport hotels as long as they are close enough to the front entrance of the loading terminal. In El Paso, there are a number of hotels that are situated very close. The Wyndham and the Radisson a few examples, as both are within a short driving range of the El Paso International Airport.

Airport Hotels - defined in two types..

Some might assume that an airport hotel is a hotel that is within the secure perimeter area. This is only partially true, as an airport hotel can be defined in two types...

• Landside Airport Hotels are just outside the airport's secure zone, either directly adjacent to the airport or a very short distance away (within 5 minutes or 2-3 miles). They are the most common type of airport hotel. It doesn't matter if you have a plane ticket or not, as they're open to anyone who needs a room. Basically, a landside hotel is like any other hotel, but with the exception of their location and check in/out times, which are more convenient. This is especially good for travelers who are vacationing and looking for extended stay.
• Airside/Transit Airport Hotels are transit hotels that are within the transit zone of international airports. These accommodations are only available to travelers who can show a plane ticket, as they're located within a secure perimeter. It's convenient for passengers with long layovers who may only need a place to take a nap and/or take a shower. Some transit hotels might offer structured rates to allow you to book time slots that fit your layover schedule, even if it's only 6 hours.
  Transit hotels are located close to terminals and designed specifically for short-stays. Basically, passengers are within the transit zone of international airports and are essentially waiting for their next flight.

Hotels Near The El Paso Airport

Although there are no hotels within the El Paso Airport secure area, there are a number of hotels that are either within 1.5 mile away, or 5 minutes away from the airport terminal. A hotel that is more than 1.5 miles away can still be considered an airport hotel, but the total driving time should not be more than 5 minutes or so. There should be very few turns and no freeway driving required.

Centrally located and close to I-10

All airport hotels in El Paso are located in or near the heart of El Paso. They are very close to I-10, and right in the center of it all.

Easy Access

Select hotels have the common convenience of having easy access to the terminal. Navigating the streets from the airport requires only a few turns and no freeway driving. Easy access to designated locations can also be reached via a rental car, taxi, or airport shuttle.

Airport shuttle transfers are usually affordable with almost any transportation service in El Paso. The El Paso International Airport is smalles compared to others, but this offers the advantage of light traffic through the main access and check-in areas of the terminal building. El Paso is rich in western history and is well worth visiting.

Extended Stay

Airport hotels on the outside of the perimeter will often have extended stay plans designed to satisfy guests needing accommodations for a period of five days or longer. You will not always find featured amenities of a boutique hotel, but you will find everything you need for long-term extended stays.

Close Proximity to Thoroughfares

The vast majority of El Paso hotels are in close proximity to a freeway. Although it's not part of what defines an airport hotel, most hotels are within close driving distance to the International Airport anyway, since El Paso is a town with favorable driving conditions. Interstate 10 (I-10) is situated directly through the center of the city limits all the way through, making it convenient to travel to key points on either side. This is good for vacationers who are flying into the El Paso International Airport from other locations and looking for a place to stay for a while.

It's easy to navigate through the central area, as Montana Avenue connects to many key points. Montana connects you directly to the Airport, I-10, access roads, businesses, and other major streets. International bridges are also easily accessible and minutes away.

Near to Downtown

All airport hotels in El Paso are close to the Downtown area. Traveling south on Montana from the main terminal and you're on I-10 W and traveling straight toward Downtown.
